IMAGINATION LIBRARY
How it works:
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free books to children from birth to age five in participating communities within the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Republic of Ireland.
Inspired by her father’s inability to read and write Dolly Parton started the Imagination Library in 1995 for the children within her home county. Today, the program spans five countries and mails over 1 million free books each month to children around the world.
Shire Kids is bringing the Imagination Library to Bennington County.
Every child enrolled in the program receives a free book mailed to their home each month. There are no other qualifications besides residence (Bennington County and Danby, VT) and age (birth to 5 years).
