MISSION
Shire Kids is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to books and early literacy programs for children in Southern Vermont.
Reading and learning are the building blocks for lifelong success. It promotes individual freedom and empowerment. Yet many children in our community lack access to the earliest tools of literacy: books. We believe every child has the right to learn and read, and a lack of books should not stand in their way. Affording all children in our community access to books in their home levels the playing field for a bright future.
FOUNDER
Nicole Campbell
Nicole and her family moved to Vermont in the summer of 2017. After 12 years in the design industry in New York and Washington, DC, she was seeking the natural world for her sons to explore. Nicole now focuses her time on literacy and learning programs in her community. Seeing the love of books develop in her own children, Nicole sought ways to bring that opportunity to others so that all children can connect with the creative and imaginary world of books. Nicole founded Shire Kids in the summer of 2019.
